SSL Certificates

All Weldship domains get automatic SSL certificates. Your sites are always served over HTTPS with no configuration required.

Automatic SSL

When you add a domain, we automatically:

  • Provision an SSL certificate
  • Configure HTTPS
  • Set up HTTP to HTTPS redirect
  • Renew before expiration

Certificate Details

  • Provider - AWS Certificate Manager
  • Encryption - TLS 1.2 and 1.3
  • Validity - Auto-renewed before expiration
  • Coverage - Domain + www subdomain

No Action Needed

SSL just works. You don't need to buy, install, or renew certificates.

Provisioning Time

Certificate provisioning typically takes:

  • Subdomains - Instant (pre-provisioned)
  • Custom domains - 5-15 minutes after DNS verification

HTTPS Enforcement

All HTTP requests are automatically redirected to HTTPS. This ensures:

  • Secure data transmission
  • Better SEO rankings
  • Trust indicators in browsers

Troubleshooting

Certificate Still Pending?

  • Verify DNS records are correctly configured
  • Wait for DNS propagation (up to 48 hours)
  • Check domain verification status

Mixed Content Warnings?

If your site loads resources over HTTP, browsers show warnings. Ensure all resources use HTTPS or protocol-relative URLs.
